Richard J. McGuinness Joins J. Calnan & Associates, Inc. As Safety Officer
Construction Manager of Monarch-on-the-Merrimack Hires Safety Officer

McGuinness has joined the Quincy-based company as safety officer. In this capacity, he will be responsible for overseeing J. Calnan & Associates, Inc.’s on-site safety initiatives, employee safety training, conducting safety audits and incident investigations, and continuously developing a comprehensive safety program.

Mr. McGuinness has over 28 years of experience in the construction industry and has over 14 years of construction safety experience. Prior to joining J. Calnan & Associates, Inc. Mr. McGuinness held positions at Trainor Construction Co., Consigli Construction Co., and Jackson Construction Co. He has managed all aspects of safety for projects ranging in size from $2 to $150 million in the multi-unit residential and academic markets.

Recently, J. Calnan & Associates, Inc. was retained as construction manager for the largest green mixed-use/multi-unit green development in New England: the conversion of the 1.3 million square foot former Wood Mill in Lawrence, MA into Monarch-on-the-Merrimack. Mr. McGuinness’ responsibilities include assisting the Monarch-on-the-Merrimack team.
